The booster pump station is an auxiliary equipment for the dredger discharge system, used to increase the discharge distance. It can be used in conjunction with a cutter suction dredger or a bucket wheel dredger.

General Description
In order to discharge the dredging medium to a further distance, multiple mud pumps can be connected in series to the discharge pipeline to achieve this goal. Each additional booster unit is called a booster pump station, which is composed of a series of equipment such as a power unit, dredging pump, control system, communication system, and auxiliary equipment.
There are two connection modes between booster pump station and dredger:
The direct series method is to directly connect the suction dredger with the relay pump. Under this condition, the start-up of the pump station shall lag behind the connected dredger to ensure that the mud in the pipeline is washed clean. This connection method has high requirements for the performance of the dredging pump of the pump station and the dredger, and they need to have the communication function to ensure the synchronous coordination ability of the two.
2. Intermediate station pool sludge storage method
The intermediate station pool storage method is to set a temporary sludge storage pool between the dredger and the relay pump station. The dredger and the relay pump station work separately without interference with each other. This is more commonly used.
Generally speaking, the relay pump station does not need the cutter suction function of cutter suction dredger, so the structure of relay pump station is simpler and can realize the purpose of long-distance mud transportation for customers with lower construction cost.
